Ship Your Treasure

Once CANARY has reviewed your jewelry information, we will be in touch to provide details such as handling fee on returned items, as well as our address to send your jewelry. We may also request photos of your treasure at this time.

Gemologist Review

Upon receipt, we will have a gemologist review the item(s) and a listing price will be determined.  We will email you our proposed price before your treasure is posted on our website.

Your item will be highlighted on the New Arrivals page of our website, waiting to be found by another jewelry-lover.

Appraisal and Valuation

CANARY is dedicated to adhering to the highest of standards within the pre-loved jewelry industry.  In fact, we hope to set the bar for it. As such, we believe the most unbiased and objective means to represent you is by using a third-party jewelry appraiser.

The team at IGL brings a combined experience of more than 60 years to the appraisal and jewelry design space, which is why they also work with the finest jewelry retailers in the country.

IGL’s gemological expertise and professional appraisal services are underscored by their ethics, integrity, expertise and professionalism.

Together, CANARY and IGL promise a consistent, unbiased, and professional opinion every time you work with us.

Posting and Promotion

Once your item is cataloged, cleaned, polished, and professionally photographed, it will be posted on the CANARY website for another jewelry lover to discover and purchase.

Current Appraisal Requirement

Items in the Fine category ($5000 and above) are required to have a current appraisal before being posted on the CANARY site. An appraisal is considered current if it has been issued within the last two years.

Membership pays!

CANARY Club Members sell their items faster—and get more for them:
  • Priority space on the website
  • Items are posted for an additional month before any markdowns
  • Receive an additional 1% commission

Consignment Fees

CANARY offers a competitive consignment fee structure as follows:

  • For Fab and Fashion items, the seller receives 60% of the final purchase price of the consigned item/s while CANARY receives 40% of the final purchase price (the “Consignment Fee”).
  • For Fine items, the seller receives 75% of the final purchase price of the consigned item/s while CANARY receives 25% of the final purchase price (the “Consignment Fee”).

Payment Options

Once your item has sold, you will receive an email notification with options on how you would like to be remunerated:
A cash payment or CANARY Credit.

CANARY Credit

 Increase your buying power!

Sellers who elect to take CANARY credit versus a cash payment for their sold item earn an extra 10% commission on their items selling price to be used against future purchases.
